Seasame Street In Communities provides free bilingual multi-media tools to help kids and families enrich and expand their knowledge during the earliest years of birth through six, a critical window for brain development. These resources engage kids and adults in everyday moments and daily routines. All HBCC providers can access this.
The National Association for Family Child Care (NAFCC) is a nationwide non-profit organization dedicated to promoting high quality child care by strengthening the profession of family child care. They offer accreditation for licensed HBCC, facilitate a leadership development program, advocate for policy change, and host the annual NAFCC Conference.
The NC Statewide Family Child Care Project works to support and enhance family child care in North Carolina. They offer professional development, technical assistance, and start up or management grants to licensed HBCC.
The North Carolina Partnership for Children, also known as Smart Start, serves all 100 counties of NC through local agencies. Many local agencies have programs focused on early childhood education and supporting young children.
The Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) is a federally funded program that is administered and funded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Food and Nutrition Service (FNS). The purpose of the program is to ensure that eligible children and adults who attend qualifying non-residential care facilities receive nutritious meals. Licensed HBCC can access this.
