  • Families First of Cabarrus County

Families First's mission is to strengthen families, nurture children, and empower parents. We are deeply committed to our community, striving to create a sense of connection and engagement for families furthest from opportunities. Since 2014, our whole-family approach to parenting, starting in the home, operating preschools, and organizing and supporting Family Home Child Care Networks, has significantly improved school readiness, family engagement, and economic mobility. We are dedicated to helping Hispanic and other low-income neighborhoods confront disparities, including social support, parental stress, child and healthcare access, income and poverty status, and environmental conditions.

  • Imprints Cares

In 2019, Imprints Cares launched the Family, Friend, and Neighbor (FFN) Care program to enhance the quality of care by increasing caregiver knowledge. The program offers biweekly visits with developmentally appropriate activities, improves home safety, and fosters peer networks through Play 'n Learns and Quarterly Provider Connections. Noting that 70% of children in Forsyth County are not enrolled in licensed childcare, Imprints Cares established the FFN Advocacy Committee to support FFN providers further. The committee, comprising FFN caregivers and local advocates, meets quarterly and is dedicated to helping unlock the full potential of children and their families, ensuring their success in school and life. Imprints Cares continues to innovate supportive and educational enrichment programs for our community.

  • Smart Start of Transylvania County

Smart Start of Transylvania County launched an FFN Care Network to extend support, resources, and connection to the families and care providers participating in HBCC. We meet monthly to connect, have guest speakers to talk about free resources in the county, and provide a safe space for each other. Caring for children is hard, and we provide tools to help them succeed with confidence. In our network they have access to ECE classes at their own pace, family resource centers, a communication and connection app, etc. Living in a rural area has its challenges, and child care is at the top of the list. We encourage and empower our FFN providers to have a voice, and we hear it!

  • Westside Network

The Westside Network was founded in 1999 bringing with it a wealth of experience in quality services, provider recruitment, and advocacy both locally and statewide. The network is one of four networks in Mecklenburg County supporting home based child care in Charlotte. We originally focused on licensed providers and are now supportive of unlicensed and FFN providers as well.
