  • The National Association for Family Child Care (NAFCC) is a nationwide non-profit organization dedicated to promoting high quality child care by strengthening the profession of family child care. They offer regular trainings on business practices for HBCC, have published a Policymaker’s Guide to Family Child Care, and offer tailored technical assistance on network development and advocacy.

  • Since 2007 Erikson Institute has been dedicated to growing the evidence base about HBCC and developing resources that aid this critical sector. They have published numerous reports demonstrating the value and needs of HBCC nationally. They have also developed resources for identifying community needs and evaluating networks.

  • Their mission is to transform the business of early care and education to both improve child outcomes and also ensure that practitioners are well-compensated and work in supportive environments. They have several resources on their website including a start-up guide for new HBCC Networks (also called Staffed Family Child Care Networks) and host the annual National Shared Services Technical Conference.
